Brima's Mom's birthday!

Today was Brima's Mom's birthday. Since Steffeee is away in collegeland, Amanda and Brima made a cake for her. We've always wanted to try fondant and experiment, so well, we did.
First, we mixed together some Rainbow Cake.
Purple, Green, Blue, Red..ish. Red turned out looking like the Purple.
While the cake was in the oven, we experimented with fondant. Brima's rolling pin was missing. We needed to think quick and improvise! Lets beat it with spoons.
Look how nice and smooth that fondant is! Perfect.. or is it? Didn't we want to dye the fondant instead of keeping it boring white? Oh, right..
Green!
You can't tell much here, but the cake was extremely puffy. Extremely. We had to cut the whole, top part of it off so it'd be flat for our cake. Turns out the inside of the cake wasn't completely baked.
Insides. Inside's insides.
Puzzle. We're awesome at puzzles. This was the top layer of the cake. Funfetti. Because funfetti is fun.As you can see.. we had some difficulties with this layer of cake as well. See that hole in the middle? That was, once again, not baked. Instead of fighting with the oven, we cut that part out, and stuck in a cupcake. Two cupcakes, actually. We figured the pan was too small for all the batter anyway.
Since my mom likes cows (a lot.) we decided to make green grass and little cows on top. This cow is purpleyblack with green spots. :3
I'm not sure where we lost the cow idea and started making other animals, but here is a giraffe. With a party hat. Notice that none of our animals have legs.
A green elephant.
Striped duck. With a top hat.

Crazy candles!
We think Brimom liked it.

A WILD BRIMA APPEARS!

WOOoOoOoooOOOoooooo!!! -wave of arms-

So recently, Brima had the chance to go visit Steffeee and company at her college. Brima got shown all around, and met a few new people. We thought the trees being yellow and orangey and red looked awfully pretty, so here's a picture, just for you.
This is what Steffeee looks like after she loses the game. I'm sure a few of you were wondering. But not really.

HALLOWEEN TIME! For Halloween, we spent most of our time in Jon's apartment watching Harvey Birdman, Flight of the Concords and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. We even dressed up, because you know, it's not Halloween without a costume!

First, I think we should explain Steffeee's costume. She wanted to be a Dr. Horrible fangirl. Although you can't see it in any of the pictures, she had Dr. Horrible on her shirt.

Next up, Brima! Brima was Totoro from My Neighbor Totoro this year. She drew on a little Totoro nose with eyeliner and Steffeee drew on some whiskers. For those of you who don't know what Totoro is, here's a picture. In one scene, Totoro uses a leaf as a little umbrella in case you were wondering.
After Steffeee and Brima's costumes, we headed over to Jon's house. This was our big pile of comfy. Doesnt it just look oh-so-comfy? It was. Oh, it was.
Jon, Steffeee's boyfriend, was dressed as Phil Ken Sebben from Harvey Birdman.
Look familiar?
We can't forget Steve, Jon's roomate. He was dressed as Colonel Mustard from Clue!
We think the candle stick was a nice touch.

This last picture's just for the lulz.

Mountain Dew Cupcakes and Cookies Dough Pie

So, Steffeee and Brima have stumbled upon these two baking-related recipes. Cookie Dough Pie and Mountain Dew Cupcakes.

Since Steffeee's off, away in college-land, her little sister has been taking her place.

It all started out as a typical Wednesday, a lot of sitting around discussing what to do, nose-touching, and movies. First we watched Dr Horrible's Sing Along Blog! Then we made a Wal-Mart run to grab any items we needed for the baking. And of course we picked up other unrelated things.

This is Mully as a Marge Simpson Lumberjack.
pic (basically) unrelated.First Steffeee's litte sister and Brima made Cookie Dough Pie! Mully, Mike and Emma were movie-hunting at Mully's house. They brought back Wall-e to watch later.Nazi Baking Soda. Right Amanda?"1. Beat butter on medium for 30 seconds."
"Brima: First.. we get the butter. And then we beat it."The awesomeness of the mixer weights it down!
Ozzy wants to help!Adding some Mountain Dew!Ozzy got distracting from the super-fun-plastic bags. These are the cupcake liners we found in Walmart that we just had to get, I mean.. look at them. Party hats!
By the way, this is proof Amanda was around. This picture is upside-down.
Purple icing to finish off the Mountain Dew cupcakes! They were better than Brima expected them to be.

Here's a fun picture of Ozzy, just because he's Ozzy.
"Ozzy: wtf you lookin' at?"

Orange Fiasco

So, Steffeee and Brima's good friend Mully had a party for himself and his niece, Kay. Since we had some time after our Pepper Fest, we stopped in to visit him and say Happy Birthday.

Then someone mentioned that they had Orange Drink at the party and had to finish it tonight, and what's not gone tonight, had to be thrown away.

That's when Steffeee challenged Mully to a Orange Drink Drink-off. Chugging contest. This contest ended up having 4 rounds. And some belly-aching friends.

Round 1. ding ding. The guy on the far right with the Coors Light was some friend of Mully's family that was drunk. He wanted to "join" our "orange drink" chugging.

Result of Round 1: Mully finishes while Steffeee has half a glass left.

Round 2! As you can see, Mully's just finishing and Steffeee's about halfway there. Chug Steffeee, chug!

Result of Round 2: Mully finishes while Steffeee has half a glass left.

How ya feeling Steffeee and Mully? Have enough? Does your stomach hurt yet? Not enough apparently.

In the 3rd Round, Brima decided to join in, and only had one glass the entire night, and she could feel all the sugar and orange drink effecting her with one glass alone.

Result of Round 3: Mully finishes while Steffeee (and Brima this time) has half a glass left.

You can comapare how the next round effected them in the next picture.
You'd think they would have quit. Nope. Not Steffeee. Mully looked over at her, and said "Steph.. one more round?" How could Steffeee refuse?
On the very last round, Amanda joined in, and everyone only had a half a cup. They couldn't take a full one. Mully and Steffeee just about threw up when they were done.

Steffeee later recovered from her Orange Drink situation about an hour and two bottles of water later, at home. We haven't talked to Mully since the Orange Drink Fiasco, hope he's still alive.

Pepper Festival

The Pepper Festival. The Festival of Peppers. It's a magical place with heat radiating off of the stands. The entire day was an adventure. It started off with Steffeee getting home from college, then the entire group shipping out to the festival.

On the way there, Steffeee tried to give her sister a peck on the cheek. Apparently Amanda had a problem with it.

This is the Angry Sexist Car Directing Guy Man.
Guy Man: "Step back, Women driver coming up."
Steffeee Brima and Amanda: -Looks at each other- "Really? We Outnumber you"
Just look at that angry face.

Hello Pepper Festival. Meet the Adventure Group. Free Taste Stands her we come!

Haha what? What does that even mean? We decided to avoid this stand..

Om Nom Nom Roasted Corn dipped in Pepper Butter. After a few bites Steffeee decided it wasn't hot enough and covered it in Tabasco Sauce.

Silly Steffeee, what did you expect?

As Steffeee described it, the Tabasco Sauce and the Pepper Butter were having a fight in her mouth. This is Brima's depiction of it. Looks and sounds about right.

It was a muddy muddy day at the Pepper Festival, but that's okay. There was hotness had by all. Steffeee even went home with a jar of Hot Pickles. That Resulted in a Happy Steffeee.
